• User Preferences: We collect and store your font style, size, and formatting preferences solely within your browser's sync storage. These preferences stay on your devices and sync across your Chrome browsers if you're signed into Chrome.

We do not collect:

• The content of text you copy
• The websites you visit
• Your browsing history
• Personal identification information

2. Use of Permissions

Our Extension requires certain permissions to function properly. We request only the minimum permissions required for functionality.

• storage: Used to save your formatting preferences.
• scripting: Allows the Extension to run its core function on the active tab when you use the shortcut. This is necessary to read your selected text and apply your custom formatting.
• host_permissions: ["<all_urls>"]: This permission is required to allow the scripting permission to run on any website you are actively browsing. The extension does not automatically read or inject any code. Its function is only user-initiated, meaning it only runs on the current page when you press the Alt+C or Option+C shortcut.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

• Provide and maintain the Extension's core functionality.
• Save and apply your formatting preferences when you use the extension.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your preferences are stored in your browser using Chrome's storage.sync API. If you use Chrome Sync, these preferences may be synced across your devices through your Google account. All processing of your selected text is done locally on your device and is never sent to any server.

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information, but please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Third-Party Services

CopySmart does not share data with any third parties. We do not use any external analytics services.

6. Children's Privacy

CopySmart is not directed to individuals under the age of 13.
